Experience
Austria
Austria is a landlocked, German-speaking, Alpine country, very close to Switzerland, surrounded by beautiful mountains and valleys. Austria is very much a haven of tranquility, renowned for its historic cities, picturesque villages and plethora of hike-options in the Alps. The country is a melting pot of contemporary and historic architecture. Austria is loved for the sheer diversity of activities and leisure it offers. One day you’re tackling rapids on the mighty Alps, the next you beeline to imperial Vienna. With mountains, glaciers, valleys, and meadows, Austria invites the most adventurous. Winter is reserved for the ones seeking to ski and snowboard in the mighty Alps while summer calls for an adrenaline-thumping white water rafting and quiet canoeing in the glacial rivers.
The country leaves you retrospecting the musical history and the big names of Music- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Josef Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms, and Gustav Mahler, among countless others. It continues to be a lively city hosting many renowned events held every year - Salzburg Festival and Bregenzer Festspiele, is the most famous. From a culinary perspective, there is more to sample than the Schnitzels and Dumplings.
Vienna
Vienna, the capital city of Austria, is located on the Northeastern side of the country, with incredible architecture at every turn. It is famously called the city of music. The country is brimful with baroque streetscapes and imperial palaces embellished with intriguing history to be amazed. Vienna lures travelers in search of exotic baroque palaces, starting from The Hofburg palace complex, Schloss Belvedere and the 300 years of enduring architecturally unique 1441-room summer residence, Schloss Schönbrunn, make for a picturesque viewing with highlights including 19th century neo-Gothic Rathaus (City Hall). One of the Hofburg's time-worn museums is the Kunsthistorisches Museum, housing the imperial art collection. The city’s coffee house culture is very much alive when the city lights are strong, serving delicious cakes which reveals a striking modern message of that the Viennese way of living is vibrant and epicurean.
Salzburg
‘Mozart lived here’ is a perfect way to introduce Salzburg. Its old town (Altstadt) is mesmerizing at any time of the year, but in the winter when the snow falls, it is transformed into a wonderland of Icy delights. The magical dusting of snow on the Salzach River, is a novel draw for the tourists who await a seasonal deluge of snowflakes, although the lake’s classic beauty means it can become crowded at the best of times when the river is fast flowing. Simply walking around is the best way to appreciate the city’s allure, including the Domes, spires, clifftop fortress, the manicured parks and the skyline with golden hues as far as the eye can see.
