Cusco sits at 3,400m. We build in acclimatisation time in the Sacred Valley (lower altitude) before heading higher. Altitude sickness medication is available — consult your doctor before travel.
Yes. Our lodge is well-established with experienced naturalist guides. Wildlife viewing is thrilling but safe — you are always accompanied.
The classic 4-day Inca Trail can replace the train option at additional cost. It must be booked 6+ months ahead due to permit limits.
Yellow fever is recommended for the Amazon region. We send a full health advisory — consult your travel doctor at least 6 weeks before departure.

Moderate. Walking at altitude in Cusco/Machu Picchu requires reasonable fitness. Amazon excursions involve jungle walks on uneven terrain. City days are easy.
Apr–Oct: dry season in Peru (15–22°C in Cusco, warm in Amazon). Rio: 20–28°C year-round. Pack layers for altitude and light clothes for coast.
